Crisis-Resized-2

If you are in an emergency, or at immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, please contact Emergency Services on 000. When you call Triple Zero, you will be asked whether you want "Police, Fire, or Ambulance". They will ask how urgent the matter is, and will ask your name and address. Alternatively, you can visit the nearest Emergency Department. Click Here to find about emergency departments in Victoria and how fast you will be seen by them.

Crisis-Resized-3

One step down is to call Mental Health Triage. Please click Here to find out the contact number for other areas in Victoria. Please call Triage if you need help sooner rather than later. For example, you feel so depressed or anxious that you can’t bear it any longer; and you want to see a professional quickly rather than waiting to see your own doctor later. When you ring this 24/7 service, a health professional will talk with you over the phone. If needed, they will come around and see you at your own place on the same day or the day after.

Another great help is to talk with a counsellor over the phone. I recommend calling Lifeline on 13 11 14 or BeyondBlue on 1300 22 4436. These are both 24/7 services. You can talk with their counsellors about your concerns and feelings. The discussion is typically confidential. The counsellor may ask your first name and some general details, or you can let them know if you’d like to remain anonymous. They can give you some useful advice and point you in the right direction so you can seek further support.
